Police Minister Stuart Nash says he’s worried about the findings in a survey which show an increase in the number of people who feel less safe in their neighbourhood after dark.
Nearly a quarter of the 9000 people interviewed in the latest Citizens Satisfaction Survey also said they didn’t feel safe in their city or town centre after dark.
Mr Nash reiterated the government’s commitment to work towards recruiting 1800 more police staff over the next three years.
